Weird Web Today is a daily field guide to the newest, strangest corners of the open web. It is curated and written by Francis Pwavwe.

What happens here

Each edition gathers roughly five recently discovered websites that are playful, surreal, intensely specific or delightfully unnecessary. Francis visits every site, checks that it is what it appears to be and writes an original explanation of why it deserves a few minutes of your attention.

The goal is not to crown the “best” products on the internet. It is to notice the small experiments, odd tools, one-purpose pages and cheerful acts of overengineering that make the web feel like a place made by people.

Why Francis made it

The open web is still producing tiny surprises every day, but they are easy to miss between platform feeds, polished launch campaigns and the same heavily discussed products. Weird Web Today exists to slow down, look properly and keep a daily record of the things that made one corner of the internet more peculiar.

New arrivals, not a nostalgia museum

There are wonderful collections devoted to old personal homepages, vintage web design and artifacts from earlier internet eras. This is different. Weird Web Today focuses on websites being discovered now. Some may borrow the energy of the early web; others may look entirely contemporary. What connects them is not age or aesthetics but a willingness to be specific, surprising and unmistakably themselves.
